Sunday Nite Speak!

* AWESOME day at Centerpoint Church!  Preached both services… seemed to be well-received.

* Preached on Divine Appointments, from this passage

* God uses divine appointments in our lives, so that we can partner with Him in reaching those who need Him most!

* The divine appointments that God brings into our lives are never random… they push out out of our comfort zones… and they have the potential to turn our world upside down!

* Love how God used an ordinary Christ-follower to reach out to the new convert Saul of Tarsus!  He could’ve used someone like the apostles Peter, James, or John, but He chose to use simply “a certain disciple” (Acts 9:10).

* All of us have our own platforms to reach the people around us… God doesn’t only use “professional Christians”!

* Preaching a few times over the next month… on the evening of Oct. 23, I will be speaking at Lion of Judah Miracle Temple.  That. Will. Be. Interesting. 🙂

* Next month, I will be flying down to Decatur, AL to lead worship and speak at The House of Rock… for one of my very best friends in ministry, Pastor David Anderson.  Will be speaking on Racism, the Cross, and the People of God.  Can’t wait!!! 🙂

* Okay… so, FINALLY starting the Colossians Challenge!!!!!  Wanted to start it on Oct. 1, but just had a lot going on.  Not really important whether we start on a certain date… just that we take it for the full 30 days.  So… giving everybody a week’s head up… we will start on Oct. 17… that’s next Monday.  And it’s very simple: for 30 days, we read thru the entire book… four chapters… every day.  Then, take ONE (short) THOUGHT from your reading, and make a practical observation or personal challenge and post it as your Facebook status.  So, for example, I might take Col. 1:18, and write this: “As a reminder that Christ is to be preeminent over all things in my life, I will pray over EVERY financial decision I have to make today.”  Or, from 2:9-10, “Loving the fact that I AM FILLED IN CHRISTI never have to pray for more of His presence in my life… I have ALL OF HIM that I’ll ever need!”

* So… simple, right?  Hope you’ll join me and all the others who will be participating in The Colossians Challenge!! 😉

DPlum out!
