Day 2: A View from Above (Pain’s Perspective)

Have you ever dealt with tough circumstances… some that seemingly are endless… and you pray something like, “Lord… can you PLEASE just end this… like NOW??”  I mean, when something hurts us, we want the pain to stop, right?  Sure we do!  But have you ever stopped to think that the process of pain is something that God uses in our lives to refine us, and to make us better?  So, instead of always delivering us from the difficult situations and painful circumstances and hard-to-get-along-with people… God oftentimes gives us the strength to ENDURE those things, not to ESCAPE from them…

… because most times, the old maxim is quite true: NO PAIN… NO GAIN!

I love this verse in the first chapter of Colossians, because it reminds me that God’s perspective of trials is different than mine: “May you be strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy…” (Col. 1:11).  Talk about a CHALLENGE… wow!!  Patiently and joyfully enduring the tough stuff

… that really does take the power of God, doesn’t it? 😉
